weighted abs

I have a question./ Is it true that if you use weight when you do abs it can help with better defiunition/ If not then what is the best way to get that deep hard look in your mid-section?

Good question… adding resistance is a way to make any exercise better. The real question here is “is weight the right resistance?”

I see so many people doing sit-ups with a 45lb place on their stomach. This for example does not really work since your stomach barely moves when you are doing situps. Think in terms of leverage… the end of the lever is more dramatic than the close point of the lever. To really add resistance to ab exercises: – use super strict form – exhale as much as possible at the contracted end – breath in at the stretched end – mentally focus on the movement of your abs
