Protein poweder

I have been trying to add muscle and have been struggling with how much protein to have in my pre and post workout shakes. I am 36 yoa. and 185lbs and it seems like I burn thru everything I consume. Any suggestions?

35 grams at each of these meals seems right to me. If you want to get really tricky, eat 30-40 grams of a simple carb the second your workout is done, wait 20 minutes, then eat the protein… try to take advantage of the spike. I try to avoid protein with in 1 hr of working out cause it kind of slows me down.
