Marathon Shape

I am trying to get in shape for a marathon. I love working with the weights, will this hinder my progress as a runner?

I am not really familiar with Marathon training. I do think, 100%, that weight training should be a part of life no matter what you are training for.

I would bet that your overall body weight is a big thing if you’re going to run 26 miles. I’d think weight lifting might taper off as you get closer to your race, but could be a great way to build the strength up in the “off season.”
