How often should I work abs, and when I do should I implement them in between sets of weight lifting?

Hey-very common question. Abs are like any other muscle on your body, they will grow when broken down and fed. Not sure if you are a guy or girl… My advice to the girls is keep the work simple and isolated. We do not want a thick waist, which can happen with weighted twisting moves.

Guys ans girls alike need to focus on the TI muscles— Transverse Abdominis, the girdle muscle to prevent protruding abs. Planks are great for this. I like to hit my abs every other day, mostly TI work, to keep them tight and flat.
