Shoulder Injury

Hey Mike, just wondering if I can get your advice on my situation. About two weeks ago I went to see the doctor with shoulder pain, turns out I had tendonitis in my left rotator cuff. I got a cortison shot and ive been going to therapy since. I have no more pain and I have my final check up this Friday. When I go in for therapy I ask the doc when I can hit the gym again but he’s very anti lifting weights, says cardio is the best excersise. Will I be able to go back to my regular lifting routine? if so how soon? Thanks!!

Yes you can but follow his advice on therapy until you feel confident on your own. STAY AWAY from behind the neck movements such as behind the neck shoulder press and lat pulldowns. These lifts stress your AC joint and can lead to further injury
