Definition of terms "Therapeutic riding" according to the latest findings

The term "therapeutic riding" has expanded in recent years and developed significantly. According to the definition of the German Curatorial Board for Therapeutic Riding DKThR, Therapeutic Riding includes the following three areas:

  • Medical area = hippotherapy
  • Pedagogical / psychological area = special education vaulting and riding (HPV / R)
  • Sporty / rehabilitative area = riding and driving as a sport for the disabled.

In addition to these three known fields of therapeutic riding, the following new areas of application have developed with the horse:

  • Speech therapy with the horse
  • Occupational therapy with the horse
  • Health sports with the horse
  • School sports with the horse
  • Work-educational and work-accompanying offers
  • Coaching, personnel and manager training

Many slots jednoręki bandyta  offer the player a special incentive in the form of a progressive jackpot. Since this form is so popular, we will discuss it in detail separately (see below). First of all, Slots with a Progressive Jackpot collect some of their bets on a separate account, which can be triggered with a particularly unlikely combination.

It therefore makes sense to make the following new assignments according to Maike Riedel 2011:

1. Therapeutic promotion with the horse

In the area of "Therapeutic support with the horse", above all the therapeutic action is in the foreground. The following application areas can be found in this thematic framework:

  1. Hippotherapy
  2. Special education with the horse
  3. Ergotherapeutic promotion with the horse
  4. Speech therapy with the horse
  5. Psychotherapeutic promotion with the horse
  6. (Here the center of gravity of the Orenda Ranch can be arranged.)

2. Equestrian sport

In the field of equestrian sport, which is part of therapeutic horseback riding, the focus is on sporting and health-promoting goals.

  • Equestrian sport for people with disabilities
  • Health sports with the horse
  • School sports with the horse

3. Adult education with the horse

The topic "adult education with the horse" trains vocational training aspects. This includes:

Work-educational and work-related offers

Coaching, personnel manager training

Although each of the three areas has its own focus, overlaps may be possible.

All three areas "Therapeutic Advancement with the Horse", "Equestrian Sport" and "Adult Education with the Horse" are based on insights from medicine, psychology, sports science and education. The commonality of all areas is the medium horse - so it is about horse-assisted interventions.

This term use: Horse-based interventions can thus be used as the main heading for all areas. In summary, this results in the following definition for horse-assisted interventions:

Horse-based interventions are based on insights from the core sciences of medicine, psychology, sports science and education. It includes different interventions on and with the medium horse in the three different disciplines Therapeutic promotion with the horse, equestrian sport and adult education with the horse. A motor, sensory, cognitive, linguistic, psychological or social promotion should always be recognizable as a goal in a therapeutic, sportive, healthy or work-related context. The holistic development of the personality should always be kept in view.

The philosophy "Eichenhof"

Ways out of speechlessness

"The limits of my language are the limits of my world"

Ludwig Wittgenstein

This quote expresses clearly what it means for "the human communication miracle" to be faced with sudden "speechlessness" or to be significantly restricted in communication. This is just as bad for an adult with a speech defect as it is for a child who is just learning his language and is affected by speech development delay or disability.

Usually begins a long, seemingly endless therapeutic path. Frustration and emotional retreat are often the result, no matter what your age. In this therapeutic impasse, it makes sense to create new incentives and to use the equine therapy in parallel to the classical speech therapy.

My idea of combining work and hobby came into being. My personal wish was to create a new therapeutic approach that combines speech therapy with the positive effects of equine therapy and that appeals to both children and adults alike.

"The best for the soul of a human is the back of a horse"

Lord Palmerston

My experience shows that especially in therapy-outdated and therapy-tired children and adults, the horse as a therapist new ways and opportunities show new energy sources and, moreover, above all fun and joie de vivre.

How nice would it be if the person concerned likes to do the therapy or does not even consider it as therapy? For behavioral, learning or mentally handicapped people, this therapy is just as suitable as for mentally ill people, as well as for people in which a spine problem, disorders of the musculoskeletal system and / or a hypotension in the trunk is in the foreground.

The equine therapy is of course no miracle cure, although sometimes even small miracles can happen ...

Approaches and basics for curative education as individual support

The Eichenhof works integratively, so that the following considerations and explanations are equally valid for "normal" as well as for people with disabilities and they are independent of whether they are adults, adolescents or children. The following experiences were collected in the therapy of children.

According to our experience, the handling of horses and riding under appropriate supervision and supervision are suitable to allow children with conspicuous behavior alternative emotional experiences. This particularly applies to aggressive or inhibited children, who can be supported by the curative education work with horses.

The experience of being carried by the horse

This involves experiencing being in a relationship, thus opening the child an important new experience. Since all of these children had to experience repeatedly that they were unbearable for parents, teachers or educators, this new, positive relationship experience is essential. Because no child is too heavy, too disgusting, too bad, too mean not to be beaten by the horse and consequently by the respective caregiver.
